After a lengthy recurring battle with cancer, British actor Pete Postlethwaite has died at the age of 64.
Coming from a primarily theatre-based acting background, Pete went from relatively small roles such as Sergeant Obadiah Hakeswill in the Sean Bean Sharpe series before finally bursting onto the big screen in a variety of movie parts which he invariably pulled off with understated style and authenticity.
From the T-Rex hunter Roland Tembo in The lost World: Jurassic Park, to the enigmatic Kobayashi in The Usual Suspects, Postlethwaithe performed with poise and precision, making roles his own without hogging the limelight.
