Machinima movies, which are mostly labors of love by fans using graphics engines from games to make animated scenes, are the ultimate homage to a revered game or franchise. They allow the creators to show off the original game format but also add their own unique twist through action and dialogue that can be either clever, funny or simply exciting.
Comedy group The Country Club have managed to make a machinima offering that matches all three of these things. The universally accessible story of the world’s favorite Italian plumbers has been transformed into a darkly humorous underworld tale of betrayal, revenge and redemption… with lots of guns.
