The latest Dawn of War 2 expansion will allow you to take command of the darker forces in the Warhammer 40,000 galaxy.
Like so many games based on the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 universe, Dawn of War 2 was something of an oddity. It combined RPG elements of levelling up your reduced squads of Space Marines with the more familiar real-time strategy elements of the game’s predecessor.
Although many critics and Dawn of War fans weren’t quite sure what to make of it, they generally liked what they saw. Developer Relic Entertainment tried to breathe new life into the franchise with the twist in the game mechanics, which, by and large, they achieved.
Set 10 years after the events of Dawn of War 2 expansion Chaos Rising, Captain Gabriel Angelos is back once again to help you put Chaos back in its rather spiky and corrosive box. This means we’ll all be treated to another round of the incredible voice acting of Paul Dobson (who outshines pretty much everyone else in the Dawn of War cast).
However, Dawn of War 2: Redemption will be open to more single player campaign perspectives than just the mighty Blood Ravens as the game’s producer Jeff Lydell explained at a press release back in August:
“We all love the Blood Ravens here at Relic Entertainment, but there are also a lot of fans of the other races and armies out there so we decided that Retribution should allow the player the freedom to experience the campaign from the perspective they select.”
